Balance Change - Fake Attacks

Did not realize that killing a few units would be so upsetting. Imagine then after that happening telling me that you were going to hurt me only to lose a nuke along with 4 nobles. Then, to top it off, losing another nuke with another 4 nobles. And, I believe a few other nukes were lost that same day. At least now, you've got a little competition, I guess. But, again, does not address the original post of this thread.

Yeah forgot how much a nuke and a noble train means to you guys at your size :( only took me 2 hours to farm that back, surprisingly enough it was our first time any of us had actually hit a stack in this world, once that happened you single handedly changed the dynamic of the entire world, put all eyes on you and the stress and anxiety you impose upon your tribemates and allies for your transgressions is proving to become your downfall, this game sometimes teaches you more about yourself than you understand at the moment, seems like this world will show you how impatient and ignorant you still are when it comes to becoming a decent player. <3 try harder next world

He has a point Mikey . Had you guys organized earlier and provided an option for some of the better players this world might have been a tad more competitive.

As much as I love PnP and battle reports and all the stuff that goes along with it, let's keep this on the topic of fakes.

@mikeymike
Fakes are balanced in so far as the resources it takes to make the units, the time it takes to make the units, and there is a limit of 50 total military actions per village. Each fake is a lost farming run, a lost unit and a lost military action.
In Tribal Wars 1 before they implemented a fake limit I was in a ton of wars where I was easily getting hit by 5000 fakes and 300 real attacks hidden in all those fakes. So I'm pretty jaded to fakes as a whole. Once you learn to live with them, you see that they're honestly just an annoying necessity to the TW franchise.

This is just my opinion as a player, there isn't any one correct opinion.

Maybe add a spy mechanic that (with enough time) could go out to whatever incoming attack you pick, spy it then beat it to your city with a report of what it was. But seriously if like in medieval times if there was like 1 ram heading to a castle with nothing else someone would see it and laugh their asses off on the poor fools who got stuck doing that.

Spying the attacking village will tell you what they have outbound. It may not necessarily be to your village, but it will tell you how to prepare if you have reason to believe the attack is going to your village.

Easy way to narrow it down if you have multiple incomings from the same town. If I remember correctly you do get notified from where the attack is originating. I also agree with Mikeymike that spamming out 1 ram or 1 catapult makes it too easy. You could also tie a mechanic into requiring at least 20 or so provisions for each siege weapon. Not that the game is "realistic" but 5/8 guys pushing one ram/catapult across miles uninterrupted isn't exactly plausible either.

I'm sure this comes down to me misunderstanding you, but the top is you saying "add something that already exists to Nerf fakes" and the bottom is you saying "reading fakes with the available mechanics is easy."

If those aren't misinterpretations I'm confused on what you think a good change would be, if any.

Sorry Tokano, probably my confusion since I haven't played in a while. If you have time to spy after getting notified of an attack from one source it's easy to see if it's real or fake. Now if you have multiple fakes coming from multiple sources you'd have a much harder time (and not enough spies) for that to work. A good change to me would be that you can't send siege equipment unescorted by troops.

Hmm... Well, like I said, I'm very jaded against fakes.

When I get fakes from multiple sources I consult my notes to see if I have anything on the players attacking me and usually that will let me determine if I should take the fakes seriously or not. But that's just an old habit I picked up from TW1 where the wars were much more brutal and the skill level was beyond anything TW2 has seen.

It's too bad the scouts don't move any faster .It's still a snails crawl to send a scout
