Filter For Messages / Envelope Icon

Would it be possible to put a filter on messages, so you can block discussions that don't concern you, and don't want to receive notifications about?

That has to go through the people that make your messages and notifications at this time. Also if you are on CPU there is a button at the bottom of the message that says "Leave Message". You can move important messages to favorites or archives. Just deleting your main box also.
