Game wise I decided that taking a village 4 days away was a great way to send troops.

Well, in the game, a tribe mate convinced me to send a noble train to a village next to him that was 9 days away. It would bring me to the front lines, and I had no enemies anywhere near me, so I agreed. The agreement was, when I got close, he would clear the village for me, so that I would have no problems taking it.
However, when my train was 18 hours away, he switched tribes to the enemy, conquered the village I was going after, and stacked it. The worst part was, he dodged my first three nobles, and took out my fourth. Instead of being able to replace them all right away, I had to wait 9 days for my three nobles to return home.

Well, like I said, he was nine days away. But there were a couple of tribe mates down there that wiped him clean pretty quickly.
